Our Story

  • The Nam Duong Soy Sauce and Foodstuff Factory is inaugurated.

     

     

    1951
  • The Saigon Union of Trading Co-operatives (known as Saigon Co.op) acquires the business. The change in ownership sees a drive towards automation across production processes, improving quality along the way.

     

    1981
  • Nam Duong solidifies its position in the domestic market, moving into challenging territories such as the USA and Russia, with great success.

    1981-1997
  • The President awards the Nam Duong factory the Third Class Labor Medal.

    1997
  • Awards roll in for the Nam Duong factory, including the Vietnam Gold Star Award from the Central Committee of Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association and the Nam Duong brand wins the Gold Cup of Vietnamese Brands, with a second award going to its chili sauce.

     

     

    2005
  • Saigon Co.op joins with Wilmar International from Singapore in a joint venture, establishing the Nam Duong International Foodstuffs Corporation (NDFC). Nam Duong’s position in the market rapidly increases with techniques designed to maintain the traditional, full flavor of soy sauce. Competitive advantages come from Saigon Co.op and Wilmar’s vast distribution networks, investment potential, and up to date technology.

     

    2015
  • The brand of Nam Duong sees a revamp, reemerging on to markets with its unique combination of modern production methods and traditional, home-cooked food.

     

     

    2018
  • Nam Duong International Foodstuff Corporation is honored to receive The Best Taste of Vietnamese Soy Sauceaward by Culture Magazin (Canada). The award has affirmed the truly fine taste, deliciousness, healthiness of Nam Duong soy sauce and that the product deserves to be the symbol of traditional values of Vietnamese culinary culture. 

     

    2019
  • With the incessant effort for the past nearly 70 years, Nam Duong has affirmed its position in the hearts of consumers thanks to its flavor and safety. Nam Duong even gains more love and trust from consumers when it is honored to be rewarded the title  Vietnam High Quality Goods for many consecutive years.
